Fast Casual: Atomic Wings Doubling Footprint

Atomic Wings, the 25-unit fast-casual chicken wing franchise that’s focused on organic growth and customer loyalty, is relying on an expanded menu and its innovative drive-thru service to drive its current expansion efforts. The brand is on track to open at least 20 new restaurants by the end of 2024, according to a recent Fast Casual article.

Drive-thru service is usually a problem for wing concepts as chicken wings can take up to 20 minutes to cook. However, Atomic Wings has streamlined the process down to about four minutes to accommodate its new drive-thru service model; the brand is expected to launch its first drive-thru restaurant in Houston later this year.

Atomic Wings will be expanding its menu this year as well, according to Mike Harmon, vice president of operations. “We plan to launch a robust catering menu later this year,” he said. “We have Korean barbecue bites in the works right now and we’re also pretty excited about our Nashville Hot sandwich and tenders. Nashville Hot chicken is something that you have to do just right, and we’re still putting the finishing touches on the recipe, but that’s going to be a superstar product for us.”
